JOHNNIE WALKER HOUSE SCHIPHOL AIRPORT
Challenge
To recruit new Johnnie Walker customers and reward existing brand fans using experiences, services and products that would immerse customers in the brand story.
Approach
Design a memorable experience where customers could explore the heritage, craftsmanship and exceptional quality of Johnnie Walker. and its whiskies through a unique sensorial journey to touch, taste and smell the rare elements that make up the famous blends.
A key part of our design approach was to create an immersive experience, including brand interactions where guests could enjoy ‘theatrical mentoring’ sessions and immerse themselves in the Johnnie Walker brand and product universe, through a combination of education and entertainment, storytelling and trial, led by the brand ambassadors.
Result
The 162sqm Johnnie Walker House was built over two floors, and features copper, water, barley, peat and oak in its design, immersing travellers in a ‘part gallery, part museum’ experience which encapsulates the rich history of both the Johnnie Walker brand and the whisky making experience. It has provided a new way to engage with the brand and offers an innovative and engaging shopping experience.
The project won Frontier Magazine's "New Specialty Concept of the Year" in 2016.
